For the 2020 Sailing Season, we have developed very strong health and safety precautions due to COVID-19. Please carefully review the following information prior to reserving a boat. By securing your Rental, you agree to follow our policies as posted below:
Before You Reserve a Boat: Make sure you have someone to sail with - they need not be a member of DC Sail, but should feel very comfortable on the water. You are permitted to bring up to a maximum of three guests for Flying Scot Rentals.
District of Columbia Boating Safety Certification: Please have your District of Columbia Boating Safety Certification card with you. You may be requested to present this document upon arrival.
Mandatory Face Coverings/Masks: All members and guests are required to wear face coverings/masks on the docks. Once underway, you may remove them until returning to the docks.
Life Jackets: Privately-owned life jackets will be required by the Member and their guests. We will be unable to share our life jackets in Rental situations, due to sanitation/health concerns. Please be advised that if you or your guests do not arrive with Life Jackets, which are required to be worn at all times while on the boat, your Rental will be automatically cancelled.
COVID-19 Contact Tracing: Flying Scot Rentals will require full contact information for your guests and will be limited to a DC Sail Member on the boat with no more than three guests joining them.
Non-Contact Temperature Screenings: You and your guests will be screened upon arrival.
Writing Instruments: Please bring a pen for signing Waiver of Liability Forms so that writing instruments need not be shared.
Weather: Check the weather forecast. If you're not seeing conditions that you are comfortable sailing in, such as light air, or heat, please refrain from reserving the boat to leave it available for a fellow DC Sail member to secure.
Weather Cancellation: Please note that we will cancel and close the docks in the event of threatening weather or high winds. You will be notified by the Dock Manager as far in advance as possible the day of your rental.
Payment: For Basic Members securing the rental, payment is due at the time of registration. Please have your credit/debit card information on hand as unpaid registrations will be automatically cancelled by the system in 15 minutes from the time of registration.
