DC Sail Membership Update: April 2025

Thank you for your interest in DC Sail!

Please be advised that in July 2024, our Board of Directors adopted a policy to temporarily suspend the acceptance of new Members to DC Sail for the foreseeable future.

The reason is due to the much appreciated yet overwhelming demand from the community, especially related to the limited Flying Scot fleet. We have doubled our Membership size over the last two years and we are at a record high for Membership numbers. With a limited fleet size, we're in a saturation capacity situation.

With that said, we're providing access to Membership for experienced sailors that have established small boat/dinghy sailing experience. Examples include years of collegiate racing experience, and/or various relatable certifications from other sailing facilities, etc.

An "FJ Sailor Only" Membership agreement has been created for those who have an interest in joining DC Sail. There is no discount from the standard Membership fee structure, just that the new "FJ Sailor Only Member" would need to mutually agree that they would not have access to the Flying Scot fleet.

When their Membership is activated, they would be permitted to register for our Adult Racing Program, participate as an FJ Sailor during Monday Members Only Sails and Wednesday Members Only Sails, utilize FJ Rentals on the weekends, and the discounted tickets for American Spirit Sunset Sails!

New FJ Sailor Only Members will be eligible to register for our FJ educational offerings, including the Intro to FJ Course. **Please note the Intro to FJ Course is not a beginner level course and does require relevant sailing experience, knowledge, etc.**

2. Email Address (*Please use a personal email address as employer issued addresses may present security firewall issues and all communications from DC Sail are primarily sent via email.)

5. Detailed Description of Your Sailing Experience
6. Provide the "Membership Level" You're Interested in Joining as a Member. (Admiral, Basic, Super, etc.)
