Weather Information

The rule for weather is you never know what's going to happen come sailing time. With that in mind, always plan on going sailing. We won't decide whether the weather is good until we are about to go sailing.

If the weather is questionable, please refer to the homepage of the website.  Our facebook and twitter update on the lower left hand side will have information about any cancellations.

Want to know what the wind is going to be like? We recommend checking out WindAlert. WindAlert also has a great App for the iPhone and Android. When you setup the application look for Hains Point.

Whether The Weather

Rain - going sailing in the rain is totally allowed and in cases of drizzle will be encouraged. Keep in mind, it can be a "rainy day" and not rain at all when you go sailing, so don't get discouraged. Always dress appropriately.

Lightning - we don't like lightning. We'll stay at the dock if it's anywhere nearby. Internet radar can establish whether we are at risk or not when there is a chance of lightning.  If there is a thunderstorm, we will not take boats out.  Rentals will be canceled for this reason, lessons will try to wait the storm out.

Wind - wind is the big factor. No wind and excessive wind will keep us on the dock.
