Welcome Aboard!
Get to know your fellow sailors ranging from the beginner to advanced level while enjoying a sail. Inexperienced sailors are assigned to boats with experienced DC Sail sailors.
2018: Beginning May 16th, every Wednesday evening through September 12th, DC Sail hosts a weekly "Open House" for prospective members of DC Sail. No sailing experience is necessary.
When: Arrive between 5:30-6:00 pm to gain access to the docks. The event will run until sunset.
Cost: No cost for active/paid DC Sail members. Guests pay just $20. Online payment with debit/credit cards is available via this registration form. Please complete all data and issue payment to be confirmed as an attendee.
Weather: We will cancel the event in the event of severe weather, high winds, or no-wind situations. Please check our home page as well as Facebook page around 4:00 PM for updates. If thunderstorms are in the area (within 10-15 miles) near the start time, chances are the event will be called off for safety. While we try to post notice of cancellation on our home page and social media, last minute cancellations can occur, as well as cancelling once the event is underway if dangerous weather moves through the area. For those customers who have paid online, a full refund will be issued in the event of our decision to cancel.
*Note: time on the water is about 45 minutes to an hour and is based upon the number of participants. Boats will be filled, head out for sailing, return to the docks and new skipper/crew will be allocated.
