This is a two day course, from 12:00 noon until 5:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. At the start of the session you are introduced to the small boats in a classroom session, and then we will get to sail both the FJs and Lasers. You not only learn how to properly rig and de-rig the boats, you are also introduced to boat handling skills of these more advanced boats and learn about balance and trim.
All of our Advanced Lessons are taught by US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 Certified Instructors.

The cost of Intermediate Lessons is $100.

Prerequisite: We assume that you have passed our learn-to-sail course on the Flying Scot or have equivalent experience. See the curriculum overview of our learn-to-sail course to judge your skill level. We also assume that if you sign up for this course that you can swim 100 yards in clothes and can tread water for two minutes.

Please bring additional clothes. A capsize recovery is part of this course in order to get signed off on the Laser.  Also, students will only move from the FJ to the Laser if they can adequately sail the FJ, as the Laser is much more advanced.  The goal of the course is to have students sail both.
